Ras Al Khor the organisms Sanctuary is a notorious wetland reserve in Dubai, home to many different kinds of creatures, including flamingos. It is a protected area with around 400 bird, reptile, and amphibian species. The sanctuary covers about 620 hectares and is divided into three distinct habitats: mangrove forest, saltpans, and lagoons. Many bird species grow in mangroves while migrating birds utilize saltpans as a stopover. The lagoons are filled with fish, attracting many kinds of wading species like herons, egrets, and ibis.
